Group photos at weddings

Planning your wedding photos is an important part of your wedding day.

Write a list of what photos are important to you and the style you would like them to be.

If you are having a large wedding, it is best to gather guests immediately after the ceremony to capture a group photo.

Sometimes organising group photos is like herding cats!  Very difficult!

So, if a group photo is important, ensure you talk with your marriage celebrant and photographer to plan the best time.

As a professional wedding celebrant, I usually say in the pre-ceremony announcements  that there will be a group photo shortly after the ceremony and give the location.  Then I remind guests again at the end of the ceremony!

It can still be like herding cats, but planning and gentle announcements help to inform guests of your wishes and make it a little easier for your photographer.

I’ll share more photo tips in future blogs.
